Oh well. Having dodged the chicken pox, Sue ran into the common post-transplant shingles. Although unrelated probably from the exposure to the pox, and more likely linked to being exposed to someone with a cold (gesundheit). Fortunately, by going onto the anti-viral medicine quickly, Sue may be spared the worst of the acute and potentially chronic pain. However, there is still some considerable pain which we are mitigating best we can.
Yesterday, the doctor had us come up to Johns Hopkins to check Sue, and said due to the quick action, it may only be a week before the shingles starts to go away. We are hopeful.
