Sue got her other lung tapped, which although not as full due to the pleural effusion as the first lung, still had too much. The procedure went smoothly and gave Sue more room to breathe. Unfortunately the first lung was shown to have gotten some more fluid, though not as much as before. Now Sue will just monitor her breathing and she can determine when action needs to be taken. Generally Sue is feeling better and has more energy.
The procedure took place in the shiny new main building of the Johns Hopkins Hospital main campus. Everything was sleek and modern, yet welcoming. Much less dreary than the basement of Nelson where many similar procedures take place.
Next week is Sue's LP/chemo which now are about two months apart.
