Sue celebrated her seventh anniversary of her BMT (bone marrow transplant) with me in the Turks and Caicos. It was wonderful to spend a week of sun and sand at a spectacular beach. This was our first week long vacation without other family (though we did stop and visit Sue's folks for Father's Day weekend) since our honeymoon. Sue snorkeled and saw a massive crab in Chalk Sound, a vivid green colored and extremely shallow body of water. And we went out to wonderful restaurants. Sue's hamstring injury did flare up again, but all in all it was a wonderful time.
We also toasted her BMT donor, Bruce, and we are thankful for all the people who have registered at http://www.marrow.org/ .
Also, since the last post, I attended the LLS.org's conference held in DC where I and for one dinner, Sue, met many other survivors and volunteers who do incredibly important work. I urge everybody to consider helping out or getting help from LLS.
And, Sue's last appointment went well and she is back to an appointment every three months. The hamstring injury can be painful and we may be stepping up the effort to resolve it.
I hope that everyone is enjoying summer and taking some time to relax and recreate. I am missing TCI (Turks and Caicos) already. This is the panoramic view from Grace Bay Beach were we stayed. Sue is in the water.
